This ruling by Press Ombud Johan Retief was based on the Press Code that was in effect before 30 September 2022.
In response to Kiren Naidoo’s complaint, Retief wrote back that his complaint was materially the same as the one that he had recently been unhappy about, headlined Saffers’ identities disappear abroad (published on 16 June 2013).
“Likewise, my response is materially the same (see my finding, dated July 12, in which I have dismissed your complaint), the Ombud said.
THE RULING ITSELF
Dear Mr Naidoo
Your complaint against Sunday Times (India’s cricket mafia intact, published on October 13 this year) refers.
Your complaint is materially the same as the one that you were recently unhappy about, headlined Saffers’ identities disappear abroad, and published on 16 June 2013.
Likewise, my response is materially the same (see my finding, dated July 12, in which I have dismissed your complaint).
